Manifesto

  • OMEI is an international organization whose membership consists exclusively of organizers of conferences, conventions, and incentive travel.
  • It is both desirable and necessary to bring these professionals together to address the common challenges of the present and the future.
  • OMEI’s primary mission is to establish goals, strategies, and initiatives that provide its members with the best opportunities to advance their professional development in their respective fields.
  • It is essential to raise the level of awareness regarding our members across all possible sectors: the business community, governments, leading organizations and related bodies, trade unions, and professional and business associations.
  • Given that we share common interests, it is important to establish and promote high standards, which should lead to the highest level of global competitiveness.
  • It is essential to establish partnerships and agreements that facilitate the achievement of objectives and strengthen OMEI’s strategies and actions.
  • It must protect and promote the interests of its members and the organization's objectives.
  • All organizers will be accepted, regardless of their size, origin, beliefs, or nationality, provided they are committed to and respect the human rights enshrined in the United Nations Charter.
  • The professional ethics required of its members and partners must serve as the cornerstone of the entire business process.
  • Members will be subject to a ranking system based on their competitive strengths; in other words, a gradual and aspirational benchmark will be established to enhance their professionalism and prestige.
  • Members must have representatives who are also members (in good standing), and these representatives shall be elected to a Board of Directors through a democratic process on a regular basis.
  • It is in the members’ interest to establish a model for internal and external communication regarding their own and others’ projects, concerns, and progress.
  • Recognizing the substantial differences between conferences, conventions, and incentive trips, this establishes the need to form specialized teams to address the specific problems and challenges of each, as well as to explore the opportunities within each segment, thereby benefiting the entire organization immediately, in the medium term, or in the long term.
  • That, as a civil society organization, it will seek the necessary resources for its operation, growth, and development.
