Therefore, the personal data we collect will be processed in a lawful, controlled, and transparent manner, in accordance with the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties and other applicable provisions in Mexico.

  • Academic information: educational institution, courses, academic program or degree, and information related to educational programs, OMEI Academy, OMEI Next Gen, mentoring, certifications, and professional development activities.
  • Registration and participation information: Information related to affiliations, memberships, events, conferences, courses, webinars, meetings, surveys, programs, rankings, certifications, and other activities organized or promoted by OMEI.
  • Tax and Billing Information:  information necessary to issue tax receipts, manage fees, payments, services, or consideration, as applicable.
  • Professional Information for the Job Board: resume, work experience, education, skills, and any other information the individual chooses to provide voluntarily in order to participate in professional networking programs.

OMEI will endeavor to collect only those data that are appropriate, relevant, and necessary for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Notice.

Sensitive Personal Data

As a general rule, OMEI does not request sensitive personal data through its standard registration forms.
In the event that a specific activity, event, or service requires information that could be considered sensitive, OMEI will inform the data subject about how such information will be processed and will request the corresponding consent when legally required.

3. Purposes of the Processing of Personal Data

Primary Purposes

Your personal data may be used for:

  • Manage registrations, membership applications, memberships, renewals, and the institutional relationship with OMEI.
  • Identify and maintain communication with members, participants, partners, vendors, collaborators, and other individuals associated with OMEI.
  • Provide the requested services, programs, consulting, and benefits.
  • Manage registration and participation in conferences, exhibitions, meetings, courses, workshops, webinars, certification programs, and other events.
  • Operate educational, professional development, certification, mentoring, and ranking programs, as well as the OMEI Academy and OMEI Next Gen.
  • Manage job board programs, career placement, internships, and job opportunities when the employee chooses to participate voluntarily.
  • Issue the appropriate certificates, awards, accreditations, or certifications.
  • Process billing, fees, collections, payments, and other administrative or tax obligations.
  • Respond to requests for information, comments, clarifications, and inquiries.
  • To comply with applicable legal, contractual, administrative, and regulatory obligations.
  • Handle requests related to the protection of personal data and the exercise of ARCO rights.

Secondary Purposes

In addition, OMEI may use your personal data to:

  • Send information about OMEI news, events, conferences, courses, programs, certifications, benefits, calls for applications, and activities.
  • Share information and content related to the Meetings & Events industry.
  • Send invitations and institutional, educational, and promotional communications related to OMEI.

  • Conduct statistical analyses and internal assessments to help improve our programs, activities, and services.

Refusing to allow your data to be processed for secondary purposes will not be grounds for denying you the requested services, benefits, or activities, provided that the provision of such services, benefits, or activities does not depend on those purposes.

4. How We Collect Your Data

OMEI may collect personal data through:

  • Registration and pre-registration forms.
  • In-person or digital registration for exhibitions, conferences, courses, meetings, and other events.
  • Applications for affiliation or membership.
  • Certification programs, consulting, education, partnerships, and a job board.

  • Surveys and evaluation forms.
  • Information provided directly by the data subject.
  • Authorized third parties or sources permitted by applicable law, where legally applicable.

6. ARCO Rights
